I’ve seen this video today, and it left me in complete awe. It is film for a project called ‘First Kiss’, where they got twenty people who never met before, and then got them to kiss in front of the camera.
It starts awkwardly, as the people are even seeing each other for the first time, but then it quickly turns into a beautiful display of achingly human need to simply be with someone.
The camera caught on film perhaps one of the most wonderful things about us; how we are all magnetic, bound to be pulled together in a desperate attempt to be as close as possible, and even that is not close enough.
You can literally see the change in people when they part after kissing, the way they’ve created something amazing, even if it lasted for mere seconds.
It’s raw and soul-stripping. It’s so human it hurts.
It is magnificent.
